GE Plaza – A Vancouver ‘hot spot’ Revived
I would definitely add the GE Plaza to the list of fun things to do during the 2010 Winter Games. I dropped by Robson Square this afternoon expecting to see just another skating rink and was pleasantly surprised by how GE’s sponsorship has renovated and revived this past Vancouver ‘hot spot’. The subtle, clean GE branding seemed to fit here as the focus of this venue was not a corporate push but more focused on delivering fun. To add to all the action there was a salsa band giving a lunchtime concert – one of many acts that will happen there daily throughout the Games. Unfortunately I didn’t have the chance to take a couple of laps around the rink, but I’ll definitely be back – with skate rentals only being $3 why wouldn’t I?
