BCLC engaged Members of Score Marketing Inc. to create a unique grassroots program that brings the Olympic and Paralympic experience and spirit to communities across British Columbia. To leverage BCLC’s Olympic sponsorship and give every resident of British Columbia an opportunity to experience the excitement of the Olympics, we – in partnership with another agency – developed the concept of the BCLC 2010 Winter Games Dome.
The Games Dome provided a unique opportunity to experience the 2010 Winter Games from the athletes’ perspective and allowed every person to feel the thrill of the Games in their own community. The Games Dome consisted of four interconnected custom built dome tents with full colour exterior murals, flooring, lighting, a full audio-visual package, and interactive sport experiences. When inside the Games Dome, participants received a personalized athlete accreditation card allowing them to ski through the winter woods at the simulated Biathlon course, test their wrist shot in the Ice Hockey rink, and experience first-hand the sights, sounds and smell of Bobsleigh and Paralympic Sit-Ski with cutting edge Immersadome technology. Visitors to the Games Dome also had the opportunity to win tickets to the 2010 Winter Games and BCLC branded instant prizing.
